Many families in the Bay Area feel pressured to accept the status quo of high school: four years of overscheduled, relentless competition, unhealthy stress, and an environment of immense pressure where teenagers put their true selves on hold in pursuit of a "perfect" college application.

But being goal-oriented shouldn't mean students have to sacrifice their joy or well-being. At Kehillah, we believe students deserve a better high school experience than that. So we created one.

Because of our intentionally small size and exceptional faculty, every student receives personalized mentorship, support, and opportunities tailored to their individual passions and goals.

The result is a high school experience that cultivates ambitious, compassionate, and authentic young adults who naturally stand out to colleges and future employers because they have co-created a high school experience focused on who they are and what they have to contribute.

That’s why we have entirely shifted the definition of how we talk about success at Kehillah — getting into college is a given; what you do beyond that is achievement.

    We encourage you to balance what you can accomplish with how you can contribute. We lovingly call this being an “Achievemensch.”

    Inspired by the Yiddish word mensch, meaning a person of integrity and honor, an Achievemensch strives for excellence while staying grounded in curiosity, compassion, and a sense of responsibility to others. By fostering both intellect and ethical contribution, we prepare you not just to achieve, but to make a meaningful impact on the world around you.
